Book Review: The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins

*Warning: Some swearsies*

I knew Mel Robbins was a powerhouse, but what I didn’t know was just how fucked up and irrational she had been in her own life. And honestly? That gives me so much hope. If someone who has battled insecurity, overthinking, and the desperate need for approval can turn things around and create massive success, then so can the rest of us.

The Let Them Theory isn’t about being a doormat or letting people treat you like crap. It’s about freeing yourself from the exhausting, soul-sucking habit of trying to control what other people do, think, or feel. Mel lays it out plainly—people are going to do whatever they want, whether you like it or not. The magic happens when you stop resisting that truth and start focusing on your own energy, boundaries, and growth instead.

What I love about this book is that it’s not about giving up—it’s about letting go. Mel doesn’t just tell us to “let them” without any direction; she gives clear, actionable strategies to help us set boundaries, stop over-explaining ourselves, and focus on what we actually want. And she does it all with her signature warmth, humor, and no-BS approach.

This book is a game-changer, especially if you’ve ever felt trapped by people-pleasing or the need for validation. Mel’s honesty about her own struggles makes it even more powerful—because if she can overcome her own mess and build an amazing life, then we can too.

Highly recommend for anyone ready to step into their own power and stop wasting energy on things (and people) they can’t control.
